A Father’s Second Chance – Ramesh’s Journey
Ramesh, a hardworking daily wage laborer from Barsana, had always been the pillar of his family. His earnings, though modest, ensured that his children went to school and his household ran with dignity.
But everything changed when cataracts slowly stole his vision.
At first, he ignored the symptoms, thinking it was temporary. But as his eyesight worsened, he lost the ability to work. With no income, the family slipped into financial hardship. His children had to pause their education to support basic needs.
“I felt helpless. A father who cannot provide feels broken,” he shared.
Hope arrived when volunteers from the Let Them See campaign discovered him during a rural outreach program. He was guided, supported, and provided with free cataract surgery.
Within a few days, Ramesh regained his sight.
The moment he stepped outside and saw the world clearly again, he smiled with a sense of relief he hadn’t felt in years.
Today, Ramesh is back at work, earning for his family. His children have returned to school, and the household is once again filled with stability and hope.
“I got my eyes back… but more than that, I got my life back,” he says.
